This 3.5 hour-long Live Zoom class includes instruction, demonstration, and question + answer time. The main theme of this workshop will be composition and much time will be spent on evaluating photographs to work from, doing linear and value sketches, plus a small simple painting towards the end of the workshop. Any student may use any medium, although I will be using my usual, PanPastel, Pastels and mixed media as below. This does not mean you need all the materials. You could do everything using one colour in watercolour.
We will cover Composition, Mark Making, Values, Colour Temperatures, Recession, Depth of Field and Movement.
Students can use any medium
- Few sheets of cartridge paper and 4b pencil
- Printouts of the attached reference material. (sent to registered students)
- 3 x Sofft wedge shaped sponges
- 1 x Sofft mini applicator
- Eraser
- Black and White Conte Crayon
- 2 or three alcohol based marker pens - {Value Pens} I use Promarkers, but not essential to use same brand. Click Here for Source
