WORKSHOP 56 – “Moored Boats” PanPastel plus Watercolour

This 3.5 hour-long Live Zoom class includes instruction, demonstration, and question + answer time. It will give you a good incite in how I use PanPastel alongside watercolours on a wonderful watercolour paper from Saunders and Waterford. You will learn composition, value, colour temperatures and how to interpret a photograph. How to develop your mark making skills to produce paintings full of light, energy and movement. We will discuss composition in depth and how to change photographs to make them a painting, NOT a copy of a photo. You will learn about the transparency of the wonderful Panpastels and how to get the best out of them.

We will also cover Composition, Values, Colour Temperatures, Recession, Depth of Field and Movement.

Students will need, for each class:

  • Students will need  1 sheet of Saunders and Waterford NOT Watercolour Paper     Click here for source

  • A few pastel pencils or watercolour pencils for details

  • A good selection of pastels based on the image for detail. So harder pastels preferably

  • Good selection of watercolours or Inks to create an underpainting
